Unity of Kalamazoo Earth Care Team
The Unity of Kalamazoo Earth Care Team was started several years ago with the Y.O.U. (Youth of Unity) group collecting bottles and cans for deposit and recycling. It later included our present activities, with adult involvement, such as Styrofoam collection for recycling and Adopt a Highway which are on-going. (Insert adopt a highway photo)
Due to our efforts throughout the years, our Earth Care Team received a “Notice of Achievement” award in 2018 from Unity Worldwide Ministries Earth Care Division, commending us for reaching their highest level of performance, the “Earth Care Fulfillment” level for which we are very proud.
While our team is not meeting in person during this pandemic, our efforts to communicate have included zoom meetings, phone calls, e-mails, etc., to discuss future projects. We are encouraged to read books and articles regarding global warming, to learn how to reduce pollutants and request information from elected officials and environmental organizations regarding the many ways in which we can all participate.
Our Earth Care Blessing, “Divine love, through you and me, blesses and multiplies our efforts to find creative solutions and actions to rejuvenate our Earth’s natural balance” is a constant reminder to everyone that the care of our Earth is our responsibility.
Unity of Kalamazoo will continue to do our part to help solve the climate issues that the world is facing with the hope that when others see the results of our efforts, they too, will do the same and realize it is up to all of us to make a difference.
